Over the last decade, Jessica Diaz-Hurtado has developed stories and creative concepts across a variety of mediums. She spent the early part of her career honing her craft as a storyteller working as journalist and documentary producer covering culture, identity, music and news. After some time in editorial, she shifted into creative direction to form conceptual narratives through films, experiential activations and 360 marketing campaigns. Currently, she’s a Creative at Spotify.

As an artist and writer, her artwork confronts themes of nostalgia, re-imagining home and migration anchored in matriarchal storytelling. As a multi-disciplinary artist, her work takes shape across poetry, filmmaking, literary fiction, photography, visual art and more. She’s a PEN America 2023 Emerging Voices Finalist for Fiction and a Tin House Writer’s Workshop alum.
